Name of your website?

Dive Adventures Asia

Your name?

Todd Lakes

Your Location (city, etc)

Phuket

Please give us a short summary of your website?

Liveaboard diving and scuba adventures in Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, and Burma. Specializing in premier liveaboard safaris to the Komodo Islands from Bali. Resort diving from Bali and Sulawesi. We also promote diving adventures in the Similan Islands Thailand.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

I have been diving for almost 20 years and I am a PADI diving instructor. I want to share my passion with other divers looking for the best diving on the planet.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

I have been working on liveaboards in Southeast Asia for years and realized the need for quality information on diving some of the most pristine diving destinations on the planet, with an unbiased perspective.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

Everyone loves a new adventure, especially divers. I have travelled and worked throughout Southeast Asia, so it made sense: Dive Adventures Asia

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

Our website is ultra easy to use. All of the information for the different diving destinations, day trip diving, and liveaboard diving is very well organized. Divers interested in diving dont have to sift through information that is meaningless or out of context. We have also been to a dived all the locations we promote so we can offer expert information and opinions on travelling to the destinations and what the diving is really like. We also go out of our way to find a way to help our website visitors. Customer satisfaction is number one.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

To keep our website and take lots of people to the best diving on the planet.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

Great we are very successful and have many repeat customers.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I would spend more money on SEO and marketing.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Yes we can bring on more staff if need be.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Redesigning our website was a big job.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Moving up in the search engine rankings for keyword for our industry.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Word of mouth and google as well as yahoo.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

It takes more time than most people think. To give good service takes a lot of time and energy.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

We have been up and running going on 4 years. This is a family business and we will continue with it.

What is great about liveaboard diving?

Liveaboard diving is the ultimate diving experience. Liveaboards enable divers access to the most pristine and diverse marine habitats on the planet, that they otherwise would not be able to get to. Liveaboards are very affordable as a scuba diving holiday alternative.

What is your website address?
