sportaholik.com Interview

By Interviewer at 10/22/07 22:22

Name of your website?

sportaholik.com

Your name?

Fred Moesker

Your Location (city, etc)

Toronto

Please give us a short summary of your website?

sportaholik.com connects those who play sports in Toronto. If players or teams need more players for their game or team, they can post indicating as such. Likewise, those seeking to play a sport, or join a team, can search for games or teams to their liking. Players can also create a player profile so others can find them.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

Playing recreational sports in the city, we noticed that a lot of times it was tough to fill a full roster. We need places to advertise that we were in need of more players. The other classified Web sites don't focus on sports so it's difficult to get a lot of attention on them.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

sportaholik.com launched in mid October of 2007.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

Firstly we focus on connecting sports players - and only sports players. Secondly, we don't require a profile or sign up from those who post on our site. We leave it up to them whether they want to have an account with us. While there are many benefits to having an account, they aren't required. Thirdly, we are Toronto-only at the moment, concentrating on the Toronto market.

What is your website address?
