How long does sports medicine date back? Girolamo Mercuriale was supposedly the first person to write a book on sports medicine with the title, De Arte Gymnastica.
Do you know where I could read up on this book? I am doing a report on the topic of sports medicine and am having a hard time finding out where it originated? I know Girolamo Mercuriale was from Forli Italy. De Arte Gymnastica was said to be published in 1569.
I have had no problems with finding information on sports medicine in the recent years dating all the way back to the Olympics in 1928. However, I am dead locked after that.
