Brett Favre helped lead his new team, The New York Jets, to a victory Thursday night against the New England Patriots. Favre completed 26 of his 33 attemped passes. He threw for 258 yards and 2 touchdowns. With 8 seconds left on the play clock in the fourth quarter, New England quarterback Matt Cassel threw a 16 yard completion to Randy Moss in the end zone. With 1 second left the game was tied 31-31.
Overtime was Favre's time to shine. He drove down the field completing 5 out of 6 passes for 54 yards. Jay Feely kicked in a 34 yard field goal with 7:11 remaining in overtime to win the game. The 34-31 win over New England put the New York Jets in first place in the AFC East. The Jets have a four game winning streak as they travel to LP Field next Sunday to take on the undefeated Tennessee Titans (9-0).
