NFL all-time top scorer Morten Anderson, announced Monday that he was retiring. The 48 year old kicker scored 2,544 points during his 25-year career. He was also the top scorer in history for two different NFL teams; the New Orleans Saints and the Atlanta Falcons. He was signed with the Atlanta Falcons for his last two seasons in the NFL and was unable to get a contract this year.
Anderson played for 5 teams as a kicker in his 25 year career. In 1982 Morten started his NFL career with the New Orleans Saints. He played 13 seasons there. Following his release by the Saints, Andersen signed with the Atlanta Falcons. After six seasons there played for the New York Giants and Kansas City Chiefs for a year a piece. He then played for two years with the Vikings.
