The major difference between the two games are the use of Wii accessories. With the Wii Fit and the Wii Fit Plus, you need to use the Wii Balance Board however the EA Sports Active: Personal Trainer, you don't need the balance board and instead you get a new Nunchuk which is strap on the legs connected to the Wii Remote to detect lower body movements.
