Beach Volleyball is a tough game on the body. Not from impact obviously as it is a non contact sport, but the force and pressure exerted on your spine, knees and shoulder in particular are quite extreme, so it is very important to have good physical condition before you play.
The best way to avoid injuries in Beach volleyball is to prepare your body well. Abdominal exercises are very important, because they stabilise your back and reduce the chance of spinal injury. Upper back and shoulder stability exercises are important for you shoulder, in particular, focus on rotator cuff. Knees must be strong and stable also, so squats, and sprint work is a very good idea.
The other key method is warming up properly and worming down. Stretching after training is very important, as is icing any joints that start to become inflamed and painful.
